Inspiration

Photography, taken largely through out my travels across Europe and Morocco and to Central America, and South East Asia, forms the basis of my inspiration for my Ceramic work.

I am influenced by my own detailed photographs, which focus upon the close examination of surface textures and fascinating detailed patterns found mainly within natural forms.

I am constantly seeking to investigate new and alternative ways of treating and working with the clay surface, to create unconventional surface designs and textures.

I am interested in exploiting and manipulating the physical properties of the clay body, pushing the material to its limits in order to create fragile forms with highly decorative and intriguing textural surfaces.
